Beware of Late Talking Children!!

Do not dismiss if your child does not have the ability to talk like children his age because he could be quite late talking. According to Expert Specialist Children's Neurosurgery Children's Hospital Bunda (RSAB) Harapan Kita dr. Anna Tjandrajani, SpA (K) late detection of the speech delay will affect the growth of children in the future.

He explains the development of speech children by age is as follows;

- Age 13-15 months was able to speak 4-7 words, and at least 20 percent of his speech can be understood by others
- Age 16-18 months has been able to say 10 words, and 25 percent of speech understood by others
- Age 19-21 months, can say 20 words, and 50 percent speak understandable to others, may designate parts of the body and called the three objects
- Age 22-24 months could say more than 50 words, 70 percent of the speech can be understood by others, may appoint and called 4 images

"If at the age of 4 years children have also have the ability to tell stories, so parents should take him to a speech therapist,"
